Yasmeen Hamad
Hello there! My name is Yasmeen Hamad, a 16-year-old junior at Rosary Sisters’ High School. I have joined our MUN club when I was 12 years old and ever since my life has changed. The MUN has shaped my personality and added so much to it; it has widened my perspective and has made me more aware of the current country affairs and the different cases around the world. MUN has also helped me overcome my fear of speaking in front of other people; people that are new to me.It has showed me that we, the current generations are the resolution to peace in the future. Most importantly, it has taught me to fight for what I believe in and never give up.
Aside from the MUN, I’m a full time Hufflepuff, a seed of peace, and a lover of exploring and learning different languages. I also love travelling and visiting new places whenever I have the chance, and being a part of the MUN has given me that opportunity.
I hope that ROSMUN 2018 will be a remarkable and unforgettable experience for you all. I’d also like to wish upon you constructive and fruitful debates. Never be afraid to raise you placards, take the floor, or ask questions, because after all this is what MUN is all about.
It gives me great honor to be serving as the chair of the disarmament committee for ROSMUN 2018.
Looking forward to meeting you all!

George Abu Daoud
Dear Delegates,
My name is George Abu Dauod, a junior at St. Joseph Seminary and High School in Nazareth, and I’m thrilled to be chairing the Disarmament committee in ROSMUN 2018.
During my MUN journey I’ve learned many new and important things, and one of these things is: It’s okay to make mistakes (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z6NTi8hogwM.) Actually, they are essential and crucial to our growing and improvement process as if it wasn’t for them, we’re all staying in our place. So, keep your placards up! Speak whenever you have the chance to, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes.
Don’t forget! Leadership is also very important in MUN committees. A true leader inspires the people surrounding him, and motivates them to work for the cause. Make allies and build blocs and coalitions, they will help you promote your country’s interest in the short term, and become your friends in the long term. MUN conferences are a great opportunity to meet and make friends from all over the place.
To keep it short, I will finish up by wishing you an enriching experience, and hope that we all have an amazing time in this committee.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you need anything, via e-mail: abudauodg@gmail.com
Kindest Regards,
George Abu Dauod

Naim Mousa
My name is Naim Mousa. I’m a 17-year-old junior from the Saint Joseph Seminary and High School in Nazareth, and I am more than honored to be your chair in the ECOSOC committee. My MUN journey began in the 9th grade where I was an admin in my school’s conference. Then, in the 10th grade, I went to my first ever conference as a delegate, at the TIMEMUN conference where I won an honorable mention award in the crisis committee. Later that same year, I attended 5 more conferences where I received the Best Delegate award in all of them. This is going to be my fifth experience as a chair and I have a feeling it’s going to be one of my favorites! From each and every conference I attended I gained more experience and more knowledge. Every conference helps you become better at MUN and you should absorb all you can from every conference you attend. Although my MUN journey began a long time ago and I have gained many friends and made unforgettable memories, each and every conference is different. If you need anything from me and have any questions, feel free to contact me via email at naimjm@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Naim Mousa

Every person in life has his own future dream and tries to achieve it in steps until it is completed. This dream becomes part of him, this is why, he will cherish it and refine it whenever is possible.
An important step towards my dream came to me when I participated in the MUN conferences.
These conferences enriched my English language, enhanced my public speaking skills and developed my personality. I began to look at things deeply and appreciate the human values, above all respect others as they are. I participated in a lot of MUN conferences like ROSMUN 2016, ROSMUN2017, PALMUN 2016 and 2017, LUTHMUN 2016, 2017 and I have never been a chair in those experiences, but I have learned a lot about MUN rules and about chairing. I’m looking forward to chair a committee this year.
I am a basketball player in De La Sale Club, Bethlehem for 5 years which has taught me a lot about team work and other good skills that are needed to be a good leader. I go to Jothur Dabka and Culture Centre which helped me to discuss my country, society issues and problems with foreigners and local personalities. I have learned to deal with these issues and how to help others to know more about the history and the daily situations of our country, Palestine. I also go to De La Sale Debate Club in Bethlehem which helps me to know more about everything I need for the motion or topic that I want to debate and how to get the right information. We discuss several issues like political, economic, and environmental issues.
My dream job is to become a lawyer because I am planning to study international law at university. I want to be a lawyer that advocates the human rights and defend the poor and non-privileged. The ROSMUN was a great opportunity for me to work and develop my skills.

This will be my second experience chairing and over all my seventh MUN conference, I’m very excited to be chairing this committee and I’m sure that it will be a blast, last year I attended Rosmun as a delegate and it was truly an amazing experience and I have no doubt that this year it will be just as great.
Little bit about myself, I am 17 years old born and raised in Nazareth, in the time that I’m not studying and preparing for exams I enjoy reading and running.
I wish you all the best of luck and hope that we all really enjoy this MUN experience.

Now for the more interesting part, my hobbies. I played the piano for seven years and the guitar for three, but please don’t ask me to play either because I’d embarrass myself.
I’m also quite interested in running track and I recently began practicing it, and Basketball, which is a huge part of my life, I’ve been doing that for 12 years now.
I’m also very much into reading and watching Harry Potter, and I prefer a nice meal with my friends over going to a party.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate and reach out to me at adi0bishara@gmail.com.
See you soon!
Mariana Akkawi
Apart from the MUN, I have many other hobbies; for starters, I am a lover of literature and books, and I spend most of my free time stuck between the pages of a book. Moreover, I spend a great portion of my time learning languages, and I currently speak Arabic, English, and Hebrew fluently, can efficiently communicate in Spanish, and know a handful of French.
I am looking forward ROSMUN 2018, and I am sure that it’ll be a prosperous conference for all.
Kareen Abousaid
Before I talk about myself, I would like to briefly thank you for choosing to attend our annual Model United Nations conference, ROSMUN; because if it weren’t for every single one of you, we wouldn’t be here today looking at issues that have left many great minds puzzled at the attempt of disentangling them.
My name is Kareen Abousaid, and I am an IGCSE sophomore in Rosary Sisters’ High School and will be occupying one of the seats of the Security Council chairs for this year. I think that being accomplished in extracurricular activities is vital, so I spend three afternoons a week on average in my ballet and contemporary dance studios at my school. I also enjoy art and singing for fun.
As for my MUN journey, I joined in eighth grade. MUN to me is a place where I, whether chair or delegate, get the chance to let my voice be heard and my opinions parceled out. A place where we all strive to bring out our best selves to ameliorate our current situation in the social, economic and environmental fields. I am a person that believes that change is achievable if we unite our efforts and believe that our future’s destiny lies within the palms of our hands, and that our opinions and feelings are of sufficient value. I assure you -and with immense confidence- that after our debates in ROSMUN this year, we will come up with fruitful solutions to bring us all one step closer to a well-organized, well-educated generation with the just the right mindset and just the right ideologies to cause an actual change.
Thank you.
Isa Dzhavadov
My name is Isa Dzhavadov, I am from Saint Petersburg, Russian Federation and I study at the Gymnasium 157. I am seventeen years old and I speak English, Russian, Azeri-turkic and Turkish and study German.
It is a great honor for me to participate as a Chair of the Security Council during the ROSMUN 2018 Conference. I would like to express my sincere hope that such activity as MUN is able to bring positive changes in our lives, strengthening international cooperation, establishing friendship around the world and developing such abilities as public speaking, the ability to assess the situation rationally and negotiation skills.
I have participated in 11 models UN since 2015: 6 times as a delegate (NOVMUN, SPIMUN, ROSMUN, GeMUN, OLMUN and St. Petersburg University MUN), four times as a chair (NOVMUN, SPIMUN, GEMUN, SPIMUN) and once as a Deputy Secretary General (NOVMUN). Therefore, I understand which measures should be implemented to make the conference productive and exciting.
I am ready to put my own efforts to make this conference great and strong again!
Yours faithfully,
Isa Dzhavadov
Taleen Taha
Ever since I took part in the MUN club, I’ve become more attentive to the world issues and felt that I, as a teenager, have a responsibility in solving them.
Attending many national and international conferences has made me a more independent mature person who believes that everyone has the right to express their opinion freely in front of everyone without being frightened, and this is what exactly MUN is for.
MUN has also widened my horizons, helped me better shape my personality from different perspectives. Moreover, it has proven to me that the world we live in is not a fairy tale, and the problems that I face in my everyday life cannot be compared to the real ones that people suffer from globally.
Apart from the MUN,I would say that I am a hardworking person who is so passionate about travelling, learning new things and dancing.
For ROSMUN 2018, I sincerely hope that all delegates will have the chance to not only engage in Fruitful and insightful debates, but at the same time make new friends and make it an extraordinary and memorable experience that will stay in their minds forever.
Overwhelmed with delight to meet you all.
